Who We Are

RATS provides on-demand, door-to-door service that is safe, reliable, and affordable.  Anyone living in the Rockbridge area can ride for any reason. Simply call 48 hours in advance of your need. A sliding fare scale based on income is used. They specialize in transport for the elderly, isolated, low-income, and people with disabilities for the purpose of healthcare, employment, critical errands, shopping, community involvement, and social activities.

Rides are also available to regional medical centers in Roanoke, Charlottesville, Fishersville, and elsewhere. Medicaid riders call the Modivacare reservation line at 1-866-386-8331 and make Medicaid healthcare trip reservations at least 7 days in advance. All licenses, operating authorities, and insurance are in place and all drivers are certified to transport Medicaid clients.
