Who We Are
Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) is a free counseling program for individuals age 60 and older and their families. VICAP helps them to understand Medicare, Medicaid and medical bills. Assistance in deciding about Medicare Supplement Insurance or Medigap and/or Long Term Care insurance is also provided. Counseling can be provided by telephone or in person.
Counselors are trained and state certified. VICAP will maintain records for clients on an on-going basis.
The service area includes Accomack, Essex, Gloucester, James City, King & Queen, King William, Lancaster, Mathews, Middlesex, Northampton, Northumberland, Richmond, Westmoreland and York Counties, Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and Williamsburg.
