Who We Are
The goals of the Central Shenandoah Valley Health District are to promote health, prevent disease, and protect the environment. Services are provided in local health department clinics, schools, homes, and other sites within the community. Fees are based on a sliding scale for individuals and children who are eligible. Services include (but are not limited to):
- Clinics - Family Planning, HIV/AIDS Testing, Immunizations, Pregnancy Tests, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing and Treatment, Tuberculosis (TB) Screening, Well Child Clinic, Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program
- Environmental Health Programs - Onsite Sewage & Water Program, Food Protection, Rabies Prevention, etc.
- Emergency Preparedness & Response
- Disease Prevention - elimination, prevention, and control of communicable diseases (HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STDs, and tuberculosis)
