Senior Rides

ACES has joined with MCEF (Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions) in offering rides to older adults, age 60 and older, who are no longer able to drive, but would like to stay in their home as long as possible. ACES provides rides to those who may have a medical condition that requires frequent trips for medical treatments, such as dialysis or chemotherapy. A ride to scheduled medical appointments is also available. 

ACES need drivers! Our volunteer drivers are paid 25 cents per mile and are provided liability insurance coverage. Potential drivers will be required to provide a valid driver’s license, their DMV record and give permission to ACES to request a background check. They are also required to have eight hours of driver’s safety training (usually provided by AARP). All expenses are paid by ACES.

This free transportation program can include grocery shopping and for personal business, such as banking.
