Who We Are
Who We Are
We started with 22 founding members in 2004 and are nearly 200 members strong today. Our members include family caregivers, disability and aging community agency staff, state agency employees, and university and independent researchers. Virginia received a Lifespan Respite Grant from the Administration on Aging in 2011 to support respite services for family caregivers. This grant continues to enhance the VCC’s caregiver support efforts across the lifespan.
What We Do
We meet every other month for networking, training, education, project brainstorming, and resource sharing. Meetings are conducted from numerous public video sites across the state using a polycom teleconferencing system which includes two- way visual and audio reception. This means you can participate from the site most convenient for you. Recent educational presentations have included: Advance Directives, Managing Other Peoples Money, Tai Chi, and Falls Prevention.
