The Cremation and Burial Society of Virginia was established to provide professional, compassionate services to the many Virginians who prefer the simple, dignified cremation and burial services. We are licensed by the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers and, unlike most funeral homes, we own and operate our own crematory. As funeral costs continue to escalate, more people are turning to us as a dignified alternative to elaborate - and expensive - funeral services. Today, nearly 15% of Virginians choose cremation over burial.

Staff at Cremation and Burial Society of Virginia can offer cremation, urns, caskets and memorial and funeral services, at costs significantly less than those at funeral homes. We do not sell high-priced caskets or operate lavish facilities, so our members are not pressured to buy services or merchandise they do not need.

Complete arrangements can be made by mail, over the phone, or at your own residence without ever having to visit our offices. We understand the dignity of your decision and treat families desiring cremation and simple burial services with the utmost respect. We will not mislead you regarding the cost. When you contact the Cremation and Burial Society, you will be quoted the total cost for our services. We do not quote a low price and then add on hidden fees, such as medical examiner or crematory fees, or an expensive "minimum" cremation container.  We will fully explain all of our services and answer any questions you may have, thoughtfully and honestly, just as you deserve.
