Who We Are

The City of Harrisonburg, through the Harrisonburg Department of Public Transportation (HDPT), provides public transportation for the Harrisonburg area. This bus fleet uses 35-foot Gillig transit buses that kneel and have ramps for Americans with Disabilities Act access. Bus routes is available on the website.

The city also operates a demand-response, curb-to-curb, paratransit service for residents and visitors with mobility issues who are unable to use an accessible fixed-route bus.

As of 2021, HDPT is operating fare-free for transit and paratransit service until further notice.  When a fare is charged, an exact change is required. Drivers can accept a dollar bill but cannot make change.
