Who We Are

Since 1986, Rebuilding Together DC Alexandria (RTDCA) formerly Rebuilding Together Alexandria, has partnered with volunteers and communities to provide free home repairs to low-income elderly and disabled residents so that they may continue to live with warmth, security, and self-sufficiency. Safe and Healthy Homes program addresses home repair and maintenance issues that potentially present an immediate safety risk or limit access to or within a client's home.  In some situations, it involves issues of asbestos, lead paint, pests or mold.

Other repairs performed by RTA's volunteers include building wheelchair ramps, scraping and painting, fixing plumbing, electrical, roofing,  installing grab bars, repairing leaking roofs, landscaping, painting, yard work, patching cracks and holes, and more.
RTDCA is an affiliate of a national volunteer-based program (Rebuilding Together, originally known as Christmas in April).

Call if you are interested in volunteering.  Donations are appreciated.
