It is important to remember that abuse can occur to both men and women. Thousands of men, women and children live in constant fear and pain as a result of family violence. Abuse can be physical, ranging from shoving, slapping, punching and stabbing, as well as financial or psychological, including threats and other verbal abuse.
You do not have to be physically battered to be considered a victim of abuse. Abuse is any behavior that is used to intimidate or control another person. For further information on abusive behavior, please visit: www.helpguide.org and click on the topic of abuse. Also, please visit: www.vsdvalliance.org.
