Who We Are

CUB is a national organization serving those touched by adoption and others who are concerned about adoption issues. Although their focus is on birthparents, long the forgotten people of the adoption community, they welcome adoptees, adoptive parents, and professionals. Everyone has much to learn from each other and sharing feelings and experiences benefits everyone.

Meetings in the Metro DC area are held on the 1st Sunday of the month (from September thru July).  Meetings are held at the home of a member in Chevy Chase, or DC.  All members of the adoption constellation (birth mothers, birth fathers, adoptees, adopted parents, siblings, etc) are welcome. Call or email for information.

Support and comfort can be found through the sharing of personal experiences in the newsletter, CUB Communicator. Booklets, that address the perspectives of birth parents, adoptees, and adoptive parents and help understand issues they face.  Advocacy for adoption reform is also part of the organization's mission.

An online support group is also available.
