Family and Children's Trust (FACT) functions as a value-added provider of information, knowledge, leadership, funding, and public awareness about family violence throughout Virginia.



FACT funds local family violence prevention and treatment programs through its competitive small grant process and conducts statewide public awareness campaigns in partnership with public and private family violence prevention organizations, including elder abuse prevention. Purpose: The Family and Children's Trust Fund is administered by a board of trustees appointed by the Governor to raise and distribute funds for the prevention, treatment, and public awareness of family violence in Virginia. Principal revenue sources include citizen support through the Virginia Income Tax check-off and Kids First License Plates sales.
