Who We Are
Hanover Safe Place, through the Hanover Domestic Violence Resource Center, offers many services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in Hanover County, including shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. The Greater Richmond Regional Domestic Violence Hotline is 804-612-6126; Statewide 24-Hour hotline is available - 888-370-7233.
Emergency shelter can be provided in a hotel for several nights for Hanover County/Town of Ashland residents only who meet the guidelines of imminent danger. Residential emergency shelter can be provided in a confidential location for a limited number of weeks.
Assistance is available to victims experiencing a crisis situation. This type of assistance comes in several forms including food vouchers, emergency financial grants for fuel costs, emergency shelter for up to 3 nights, clothing, and transportation. Additional services available are childcare during meetings, counseling for teens, outreach in schools, teen program, emergency cell phones, free attorney services and sexual assault intervention. Will serve folks who are physically located close to our agency, who do not have a Domestic Violence service provider in their area, etc.
