Weatherization, Energy Related Insulation and Air Sealing

The Weatherization Assistance program provides funds to help reduce household energy costs for low-income families. It also address health and safety issues.  Priority is given to the elderly, individuals with disabilities and families with children.

The program provides direct installation of energy saving measures such as : air sealing, insulation ,weather stripping, repairing leaky duct systems ;repairing and/or replacing unsafe heating systems; installing carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.

Minor repair may be provided to maintain the health and safety of the occupants.   All work is performed by a local licensed and insured home performance contractor and inspected by a certified Quality Control Inspector.

 Service area includes Amherst, Appomattox, and Bedford Counties.
