Event Description

Media Literacy for Adults will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 10 am until 11:30 am ET. We will address the growing importance of media literacy - the ability to critically analyze for accuracy and credibility or evidence of bias in various media. This is crucial in today’s digital age for individuals of all ages including older adults who often face unique challenges in navigating the ever-changing media landscape. Carol Quade, an adjunct faculty member at NOVA-Annandale and LLI presenter, will explore these challenges and provide practical strategies to enhance digital skills, critical thinking, and online safety. She holds a doctorate in communications and media studies and has taught for 26 years.

This online program is offered by the Lifetime Learning Institute of Northern Virginia (LLI/NOVA), which is affiliated with the Annandale campus of Northern Virginia Community College. Please do not opt out of event-related emails, as you will be emailed a link to join the class via the LLI/NOVA’s Zoom platform prior to the event. Note that any information you share on that online platform will be governed by the privacy policy of LLI/NOVA.
